Production Assistant For Print And ColorThe ideal Production Assistant for Print and Color is a fast learner, self-driven individual who is passionate about color and the technicalities of the printing process. They will assist the Print & Color Manager with developing seasonal palettes and communicating with suppliers to ensure that both color and print are executed in accordance with original intent. They must have a keen eye for detail and outstanding organization skills.This is an entry level job for someone looking to start their career in Production!Color Development Responsibilities:Assess lab dips and communicate color comments to our fabric millsMatch seasonal inspiration to Pantone numbers and other corporate color standardsMatch color for printer using Ned Graphics softwareName and number all new color standardsUpload seasonal colors into corporate PLM systemMake physical palettes as well as digital palettesResponsible for updating shared documents with recent changes in palettesOrder ribbons for palettes and build boards for presentationKeep color library clean and replenishedEnsure that art has correct color info before going into productionOrganize and file back inspirational swatches after the conclusion of each seasonPrint Production Responsibilities:Assess strike offs and communicate color and printing comments to our fabric millsAttend weekly CFT meetings to align with cross-functional partners on print development needsPrepare and submit art and color packages via email, web upload and shippingMaintain a current and organized print chart with details and status of all developmentsUpload seasonal pattern jpegs into corporate PLM systemCommunicate daily with overseas suppliers, cross-functional teams and mills on execution of print color/layout/techniqueExecute tasks in accordance with calendar milestones and provide timely/creative solutions for urgent issuesKeep workload organized and moving forward as milestones for multiple seasons occur simultaneouslyMaintain print development archives (storing sample yardage, archiving binders of approvals)You'll bring to the role:Bachelor's DegreeSuperior score on Farnsworth-Munsell color test1-2 years of experience in product development or related fieldHighly organized - must have the ability to keep information organized and up-to-date in a fast paced environmentStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite)Strong communication skillsAbility to build collaborative relationships across departments and divisionsKnowledge of print methods and process, repeat sizes and general fabric limitations are a plus but not requiredGeneral expertise of fabric constructions/fibers and how each takes print is a plus but not requiredBenefits:You will be eligible to receive a merchandise discount at select KnitWell Group brands, subject to each brand's discount policies.Support for your individual development plus opportunities for career mobility within our family of brands.A culture of giving back – local volunteer opportunities, annual donation and volunteer match to eligible nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic activities to support our communities.Medical, dental, vision insurance & 401(K)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Time off – paid time off & holidaysThe target salary range for this role is: $53,000 - $54,000Hybrid: This position works in a hybrid model, with required days worked in the Ann Taylor office location in New York, NY as defined by business needs.Equal Employment Opportunity The Company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
