Calibration Technician

Technician Position at Ophir MKSAs a Technician at Ophir MKS, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing solar cells and laser measurement equipment. You will be reporting to the Calibration Supervisor and will work closely with the Technical Support and Quality teams.You Make an Impact By:Conduct calibration and testing of solar cells and laser measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and specificationsDocument testing and calibration results, maintaining accurate and detailed records of all activities for audit and compliance purposesRegularly inspect, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment to detect and correct any deviations from standard performanceCreate and manage equipment calibration schedules to ensure all equipment is calibrated at required intervals, preventing equipment downtime and maintaining operational efficiencyEnsure all calibration activities meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards, adhering to industry best practices and company policiesKeep tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring they are properly stored, cleaned, and maintainedOffer technical support and guidance to other departments and personnel regarding calibration processes, procedures, and best practicesUpdate and maintain work instructions related to the calibration of photovoltaic cells and use of equipment.Communicate with customers regarding purchase orders and requests.Skills You Bring:Associate degree in a technical discipline, military technical training, or equivalent vocational/technical education preferred.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Skilled in the use of precision measurement and testing instruments.Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions effectively.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality standards.Prior calibration experience is preferred; however, training will be provided for qualified candidates with the appropriate technical aptitude and background.Physical Demands & Working Conditions:Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of timeOccasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 poundsFrequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder levelRegularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder levelOperates in a laboratory/manufacturing environmentConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineryAbility to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heatNoise level in the work environment is usually averageBonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].Benefits: MKS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, 12 paid holidays, sick time, 15 paid vacation days, [6 weeks fully paid] parental leave, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement [and for participation in any stock programs, signing bonus, etc.].MKS is an equal opportunity employer, including disability, veteran status and all categories protected by law.
