Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift - 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift - 3x12.0

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, operating within the scope of the professional license and with minimal supervision.

• Evaluates patient needs and recommends appropriate treatment plans.
• Explains treatment purposes, procedures, and use of equipment to patients, providing necessary education upon discharge.
• Conducts physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers.
• Performs chest physiotherapy and promotes secretion clearance using specialized equipment.
• Executes suctioning via multiple methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
• Monitors patients through oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Conducts routine evaluations of chest x-rays and performs pulmonary function studies.
• Assists in respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
• Records treatment details and patient responses, ensuring accurate documentation during shifts.
• Collaborates with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding patient therapy efficiency.

• Must possess a valid Respiratory Therapist license.
• ICU experience is required.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS are preferred.
