Job Description Install, align, maintain, troubleshoot and repair machinery and mechanical equipment including motors, pumps, fans, belt drives, vacuum pump systems, air compressors, etc. Maintain all machine shop tools and equipment as required. Fabricate mechanical devices and replacement parts working from sketches, CAD drawings/blueprints or verbal instructions. Inspect and service equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule, lubricate, maintain and adjust as required. Safely and effectively rig machinery, piping system components and lab equipment in and out of operating areas Operate efficiently, all hand/power tools, test instruments and equipment normally used by this trade and maintain/return in good condition. Demonstrate ownership of workplace safety/site safety culture by adhering to all safety rules/regulations and reporting to supervisor any equipment in need of repair or any unsafe situations or conditions. Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient and clean operating condition. Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades as required. Shift Day shift (7 am -3:45 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:45 pm), determined by position availability after polling 1st - Day, 2nd - Evening Education Minimum Requirement High School graduate or equivalent. and Vocation or technical school certification with Courses in Machine Shop practice and Machine Tool Operations 3 to years. 5+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical or associated tasks. Must have adequate skills to perform required job functions with minimal supervision Preferred Experience And Skills Courses in Machine Shop practice and Machine Tool Operation Courses in equipment rigging Experience working in an industrial environment Physical Requirements Must be able to adequately perform required job functions. This includes being able to lift, bend, and move in such a way as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner. Must be able to operate required hand/power tools, test instrumentation and equipment required by this trade in a safe and approved manner. Environmental Conditions Environmental conditions will vary based on the job being performed. Work may take place in either the maintenance shop and/or in the plant depending upon the job requirements.
