Behavioral Health Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate submission, follow-up, and collection of claims for Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) services across multiple states and Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).

This role requires knowledge of Medicaid billing, authorization-driven reimbursement, and multi-state payer requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in behavioral health revenue cycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Submitting claims for PRTF per diem services to Medicaid FFS and Managed Care payers and ensuring claims align with approved authorizations and contracted rates.
• Following up with Medicaid and MCO payers to secure timely payment and maintaining working knowledge of multi-state Medicaid billing requirements.
• Tracking billed days versus authorized days and maintaining HIPAA compliance and safeguard protected health information.

Required Qualifications: 2+ years of behavioral health or healthcare billing experience as well as experience billing Medicaid and Managed Care payers. Strong understanding of authorization-based billing processes.

Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience billing PRTF or residential behavioral health services and multi-state Medicaid billing experience.

High School or better.

2 years: Medicaid/Medicare, Medicaid Managed Care Plans
