As a Wealth Management Accounting Associate within the Controllers organization in Corporate Finance, you'll help support the financial operations and reporting for MassMutual's Wealth Management businesses. The Team

\n

The Wealth Management Finance team provides accounting and financial support for MassMutual's registered broker-dealers and affiliated businesses. As part of a close-knit team, you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of accounting and reporting activities rather than being limited to a single area of responsibility. The Impact

As a Wealth Management Accounting Associate, you'll play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting regulatory requirements, and helping the team identify opportunities for greater efficiency and insight.

Your responsibilities may include:

\n

\n
• Perform daily and weekly cash management activities and account reconciliations for Wealth Management entities.
\n
• Support the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and resolving intercompany balances.
\n
• Analyze financial data and develop meaningful reporting and visualizations that help stakeholders understand business performance.
\n
• Assist with responses to requests from external auditors and regulatory examiners.
\n
• Analyze trends and financial results and contribute commentary that helps leadership understand key business drivers and outcomes.
\n
• Support and maintain internal controls designed to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
\n
• Partner with team members to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Financial Responsibility Rule (FRR) requirements.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance reporting, and increase efficiency through automation and best practices.
\n
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial operations and deliver greater business value.

Minimum Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma plus 5+ years of work experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting, broker-dealer operations, regulatory reporting, audit, controls, treasury, reconciliations, or other financial services-related functions
\n
• 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting, broker-dealer operations, regulatory reporting, audit, controls, treasury, reconciliations, or other financial services-related functions
\n
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, including experience with complex formulas, PivotTables, data analysis, and large financial datasets.
\n
• Due to the nature of this position, candidates must successfully complete a non-registered fingerprint background check and qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA requirements.
\n

Ideal Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
\n
• Experience supporting broker-dealers, financial services, or regulated financial organizations.
\n
• Familiarity with MassMutual Wealth Management products, businesses, or distribution channels.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
\n
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and exercise sound professional judgment.
\n
• Experience with Alteryx or other data analytics and automation tools.
\n
• Knowledge of accounting controls, financial reporting, or regulatory reporting requirements.
\n
• Progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
\n
