Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant II is a key contributor to the accounting team, responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role performs a wide range of accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and participating in month‑end and year‑end close processes. The Staff Accountant II works cross‑functionally to support audit activities, improve accounting processes, and maintain strong internal controls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Exercise independent judgment in preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Take an active role in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including meaningful participation in month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Review and oversee accounts payable and payroll activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and in‑depth financial analyses to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for process and operational improvements; clearly document and communicate findings to management.
• Partners with internal and external auditors by coordinating audit schedules, preparing and reviewing supporting documentation, and responding to audit inquiries with sound professional judgment.
• Support and mentor Staff Accountant I or junior accounting personnel, as assigned, by providing guidance on accounting procedures and best practices.
• Contribute to special projects, system implementations or enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations, as directed by the Director of Accounting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated experience supporting and independently managing key components of month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Lawson, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and analytical functions).
• Experience supporting internal and external audits required.
• CPA certification or demonstrated progress toward CPA licensure preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

The Staff Accountant II works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and accounting software. The role is primarily sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and focused computer work. The position involves working in a deadline-driven environment, particularly during month-end and year-end close cycles.

This role requires collaboration with accounting team members, management, and cross-functional partners, as well as the ability to work independently using professional judgment and discretion. Standard business hours are expected; however, additional hours may be required during peak reporting periods.

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal travel required; occasional trips to other company locations or training sessions may be necessary.

• Accounting software, spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel), and other office productivity software.
• Standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may mentor junior staff
