Job Summary:

Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Join our Clinic Float Team as a Medical Assistant covering open shifts in primary care and urgent care clinics across the east Portland metro area. This role requires someone who is extremely dependable, self-sufficient, and able to adapt quickly to different clinic environments with minimal direction.

Key details:

• At least one year of Medical Assistant experience: Required
• Availability on short notice between 7:00 AM-8:00 PM, Monday through Friday and 8:00am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday
• Travel between clinic locations: Required
• Mileage reimbursement and shift differential pay

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred
• Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT): Required

Essential Functions:

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
• Performs audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
