Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist (Multi-Cancer Early Detection)

Natera seeks a Senior or Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to develop algorithms and analytical methods for multi-cancer early detection from blood samples. The role involves working with large-scale genomic datasets, collaborating with molecular and clinical teams, and advancing diagnostic technology from research to clinical validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate novel algorithms for analyzing large multimodal epigenomic datasets
• Implement research analyses with testing, performance evaluation, and feature development within existing pipelines
• Manage sequencing and clinical data from large cohorts with attention to data integrity and quality control
• Collaborate with molecular biologists and clinical scientists on complex research problems
• Establish and maintain team standards for code quality and reproducibility

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, or related field; or Bachelor's/Master's with 4+ years professional experience
• Demonstrated experience developing and validating analysis workflows for high-throughput sequencing data
• Proficiency in Python and scientific computing ecosystem with strong software development background
• Experience applying and evaluating statistical and machine learning methods to large datasets
• Fluency with Linux command-line tools and cloud computing environments
• Strong quantitative reasoning and ability to communicate complex findings to diverse audiences
