Business Analyst - Documentation Recovery

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst will lead the Documentation Recovery initiative by inventorying documentation, interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs), mapping current-state processes, and converting institutional knowledge into structured, lasting documentation. This role aims to strengthen cybersecurity and operational resilience within complex IT environments. Responsibilities:

• Lead discovery workshops and SME interviews across IT and County stakeholders.
• Document current-state processes, workflows, and dependencies.
• Build process maps and diagrams using Visio and Microsoft 365.
• Identify documentation gaps and standardization opportunities.
• Prioritize requirements for SOPs, runbooks, and system documentation.
• Partner with the Technical Writer to structure SME knowledge into source material.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 10+ years of business analysis experience in complex IT environments.
• Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 and Visio proficiency.
• Experience working with technical SMEs (infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity).
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in documentation recovery, knowledge management, or process standardization.
• Cybersecurity, disaster recovery (DR), or IT service management (ITSM) documentation experience.
• Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, or CIS frameworks.
• Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, or ITIL Foundation.
