Account Representative

Account RepresentativeSmith is one of the world's leading Independent Electronics Distributors and we are seeking qualified Account Representatives. This position takes fortitude, entrepreneurial instinct and top relationship building skills to be successful. The Account Representative will be responsible for the sale of semiconductors and electronic components. The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to build their own customer base by prospecting, servicing, and nurturing an account base that includes OEMs and CEM's around the world.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong, long-term relationships with OEMs and contract manufacturers via phone and email, acting as a trusted partner for semiconductor sourcing needsServe as the primary point of contact for all customer-specific semiconductor and electronic component needs, including escalations and urgent shortagesEnsure timely and accurate delivery of components and supply chain solutionsMaintain detailed records of customer interactions, forecasts, and pipeline activity within CRM systemsDrive sales by identifying component requirements, cross-referencing part numbers, and initiating engagement through outbound prospecting, technical discussions, and solution-based presentationsUnderstand and communicate the value of Smith's services within the semiconductor supply chainMonitor and respond to semiconductor market trends to provide strategic guidance to customersNegotiate pricing, lead times, and supply terms in alignment with real-time market conditions and component availabilityCollaborate closely with Smith's Purchasing team to source hard-to-find and allocated components, ensuring quality, traceability, and supplier reliabilityCompetenciesStrong communication skillsAdvanced negotiation skillsCollaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally across sales, purchasing, and quality teamsResults-driven with a strong sense of urgency, especially in time-sensitive sourcing situationsDeep commitment to customer satisfactionSkilled in overcoming objections related to pricing, lead times, and supplier risk in the semiconductor marketMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceKnowledge of and experience with selling strategies is preferredKnowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookSmith is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer
