Senior Staff Accountant

Description:

The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial integrity and reporting of Team Quality Services multi-entity and multinational operations. This position is responsible for advanced accounting activities including general ledger management, financial consolidations, intercompany transactions, foreign currency accounting, and financial reporting.

The Senior Staff Accountant will support monthly and annual close processes, assist with financial statement preparation and audits, and help improve accounting processes and internal controls. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working across multiple entities and currencies, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• Minimum of 35 years of progressive accounting experience required
• Experience working in a multi-entity or international organization preferred
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Valid drivers license required
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a passport for required international travel or training

Compensation:

$70,000 annually

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries for multiple entities in various currencies.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Consolidation & Intercompany

• Perform global consolidations for monthly and quarterly financial statements.
• Reconcile and eliminate intercompany balances and transactions.
• Coordinate with local teams to ensure accuracy of intercompany activity.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with management reporting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and participate in adoption of IFRS/local accounting standards as needed.

Foreign Currency & Tax

• Manage foreign currency transactions, revaluations, and translation adjustments.
• Collaborate with tax advisors for cross-border tax matters and compliance.

Process Improvement & Controls

• Recommend and implement process improvements in accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
• Assist with ERP system upgrades, automation, and workflow enhancements.

Audit & Compliance

• Support annual external financial reviews, working with accountants across jurisdictions.
• Prepare documentation for statutory audits and regulatory filings as required.

Other

• Comply with all customer and service location requirements, including, but not limited to, health/safety training and vaccination status.
• Demonstrate proficiency using technology, including, but not limited to, smart phones, tablets, computers, mobile applications, web-based software, typing, data entry, spreadsheets, and the use of video conferencing systems.
• Demonstrate the ability to use written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people, including proficiency in using a telephone/cellphone.

• Occasional participation in events outside of regular hours may be necessary, which may include meetings, training sessions, and team building events.
• Maintains flexibility to work additional hours as needed during busy periods or to meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changing work demands and schedules, including occasional mandatory overtime. Mandatory overtime may be required, with compensation provided in accordance with Company policies and local labor laws.
• Requires minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (1/3 or more of the workday), and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Ability to work with and around others for extended periods of time (2/3 or more of the workday).
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate smartphones, keyboards, hand tools, and measurement devices.
• Keen eyesight to read small print/text/figures and to identify quality defects (including in low-light situations).
• Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 35 years of progressive accounting experience
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment
• Valid drivers license
• Must be and remain eligible to be issued a passport for any required international travel/training

Preferred

• CPA or equivalent certification
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to IFRS and/or other international standards
• Experience with multi-entity and international operations
• Advanced proficiency in Sage accounting software
• Experience with multi-currency transactions and consolidations as well as transfer pricing, international tax and compliance requirements
