Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, preparing and/or reviewing various general ledger entries, account and bank reconciliations, producing reports, and backing up other accounting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs general accounting and other related duties.
• Prepares various general ledger entries.
• Assists with the monthly and annual closings, meeting timelines and deadlines timely.
• Assists with preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements.
• Assists with maintaining the general ledger and other reporting systems.
• Cross trains with other accounting functions -AP, AR, etc.
• Assists with preparation of required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Assists with cash reporting and account analysis.
• Assists with General Ledger Account reconciliations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AR / AP functions preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Knowledge and understanding of GAAP.

Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000 /yr

Schedule: Monday - Friday, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end close, year-end close, audits, or other business needs.
