Director Of Contract Management (CONTRACT ADM 5)

Job Summary Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC), the Director of Contract Management is responsible for structuring and administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with contractors, design professionals and consultants. Collaborates with UCOP, UC Legal and campus partners to ensure professional contracting services are provided in compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions. Provides strategic direction for the development of new contract options. Works collaboratively with DCM staff and client departments across campus, and interfaces with unit management regularly to communicate unit-wide and campus contract initiatives, resolve issues, foster integrated collaborations among units and oversee contract practices. Serves as a primary liaison with UC Legal on contract matters related to state bidding law, bid protests communication and evaluations. Responsible for lead contract functions within a highly reliable and collaborative organization with a strong focus on customer service, innovation and stewardship. Apply By Date : July 8, 2026 Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in business administration, business law, construction management or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years experience in contracts and 5 years experience in supervision of staff. Advanced knowledge of California construction contract law and competitive bid policies, procedures, and regulations. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to develop short-term and long-term plans and supervise staff to meet operational goals. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of UC contracts and agreements. Advanced skills for negotiation, resolution and political acumen. Analytical and critical thinking skills to anticipate, identify and communicate issues effectively. Experience developing training programs including creating procedures and materials.
