This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic programs that align with internal stakeholder needs, focusing on cost‑effective solutions, timely acquisition, and comprehensive supply management. Represent American Airlines in negotiations and business dealings, both internally and externally. Act as a catalyst for change, streamlining processes for greater efficiency. Conduct in‑depth research and analysis of commodities and categories. Assist with the development and implementation of category strategies as a strategic thinker. Assist with RFP processes and contract negotiations. Enhance company value while fostering positive supplier relationships. Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and integrate them into procurement processes. Communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions. All you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training. Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience Advanced degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related field. Proficiency in Source to Pay systems. Experience in vendor relationship management. Skills in process mapping and supplier risk analysis. Skills, Licenses & Certifications Knowledge of supply chain concepts, with work or internship experience applying those concepts. Negotiating and influencing skills. Ability to be self‑directed and resourceful, with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow‑through and initiative. Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis. Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement. High ethical standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Solid understanding of supply chain management principles.
