Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients to determine their physical capabilities, using diagnostic and prognostic assessments related to muscles, nerves, joints, and functional abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and enhancing the functioning of clients within their capabilities.
• Oversee and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of treatment plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards in care.
• Evaluate the home environment as part of therapy assessments, making recommendations that foster independence and enhance recovery.
• Provide direct physical therapy services within the outpatient setting and collaborate with physicians to ensure personalized care is delivered effectively.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and treatments that involve physical agents, tailored to meet the individual needs of each client.
• Document clinical findings, treatment progress, and any changes in client conditions accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage with clients and their families to educate them on the therapy process, equipment usage, and home care strategies that support ongoing rehabilitation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights and collaborating on developing comprehensive care plans for clients.
• Stay current with the latest therapeutic advancements, techniques, and regulations to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes.
• Perform functional assessments and adapt the plan of care as necessary based on client progress and specific needs.
• Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner to support efficient workflow and maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Possession of a valid and active Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with an impeccable record free from sanctions or board proceedings.
• Exceptional proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a demonstrated ability to design and implement effective exercise programs.
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy protocols informed by the latest research and best practices.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, particularly WebPT, for efficient documentation and record-keeping.

Preferred Experience

• Prior clinical experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
• Experience working with a diverse range of patient diagnoses, including orthopedic and neurological conditions.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
