The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining balance sheet schedules, and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process and helps maintain strong internal controls and compliance with U.S. GAAP.## Essential Duties & Responsibilities* Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, and other recurring entries.* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.* Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.* Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking.* Maintain lease accounting schedules and related journal entries.* Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate unusual variances.* Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with cash reconciliations.* Assist with intercompany reconciliations and transactions.* Prepare supporting schedules for external audits and tax filings.* Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.* Assist in documenting and improving accounting procedures and internal controls.* Support ERP system enhancements, testing, and process improvements.* Partner with operations and other departments to resolve accounting-related issues.* Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned## Qualifications## Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.* 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience.* Experience in transportation, logistics is preferred.* Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Intacct or similar ERP system preferred.* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.## Preferred Skills* Multi-entity accounting experience.* General ledger and account reconciliations.* Audit support.* Process improvement and internal controls. #J-18808-Ljbffr
