Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs:Personal Care SkillsBasic Nursing Assistant Skills: As outlined by the Rhode Island Department of Health Professional Licensing and Facility Regulation.Rehabilitation Skills: Performs daily activities of living, ambulates patient as appropriateMaintenance of Safe Environment: Reports unsafe conditions/situations to Registered Nurse, manager, or supervisor; reports equipment in need of repair and removes from service.Recognition of and Reporting Signs and Symptoms: Communicates all pertinent patient observations to the Registered Nurse.Safety: Maintains quality assurance and infection control, in accordance with established hospital and department policies, procedures and objectives.Accurately documents data in the EHR, patient care flowsheet, clinical data recordsDemonstrates ability to perform responsibilities in emergency/code situationsMay function as a patient observerPerforms other related duties as required.Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing AssistantHigh school graduate or its equivalent preferredAbility to perform basic computer skillsCertified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care processOne-year experience as a Nursing Assistant preferredWorks in healthcare environments such as:Acute care hospitalsPhysicians' officesAncillary health care enterprisesPhysical requirements:Prolonged sitting, standing, and walkingRepeated bending, squatting, and stoopingMay be required to lift/turn patients and equipmentWorks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse within the scope of hospital and department policies and practices and the Rhode Island Department of Health Professional Licensing and Facility Regulation.Refers specific, complex problems to supervisor where clarification of department policies and procedures may be required.Pay Range: $18.00-$25.82EEO Statement: Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.Location: The Miriam Hospital - 164 Summit Ave Providence, Rhode Island 02906Work Type: 3:00p-11:30p every other weekend, every other holidayWork Shift: EveningDaily Hours: 8 hoursDriving Required: No
