Postpartum Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Postpartum Nurse to join our dynamic Mother-Baby Unit. The successful candidate will provide outstanding care to mothers and their newborns in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Job Details

• Unit: Postpartum
• Unit Type: Mother Baby (Post Partum)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 4 years required
• Postpartum Beds: 28 beds
• Births per Year: Approximately 3300
• Certifications Required: BLS, NRP
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 couplet care
• Floor Specific Orientation: 3 shifts on unit
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: One major and one minor
• Scrub Color: Navy

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Assist with basic medical procedures and monitor patient conditions.
• Nurture a supportive environment that encourages patient education and emotional well-being.
• Float to NICU for feeder and grower care, as well as to Pediatrics for low acuity patients as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in postpartum nursing, with travel experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be open-minded and adaptable to unit and staff dynamics.
