Banquet Captain

4700 Emperor Boulevard, Durham, NC 27703, USA As a Banquet Captain at Concord Hospitality, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring seamless and memorable event experiences. Working closely with the Banquet Manager, you will supervise banquet staff, coordinate food and beverage service, and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction across all events—from meetings and trainings to receptions and reunions. Responsibilities Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards. Provide exceptional guest service and ensure all guest needs are met throughout each event. Lead and motivate the banquet team, ensuring all quality and service standards are consistently upheld. Greet guests warmly and oversee the flow of service during events. Assist with food and beverage delivery when needed, especially during peak service periods. Train banquet staff on proper service techniques for plated meals, buffets, and reception-style events. Anticipate guest needs and monitor satisfaction with food, beverage, and service. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and concerns. Supervise the setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet events. Perform side work and ensure full preparation for upcoming events. Maintain clean, organized, and safe service areas at all times. Qualifications Previous banquet or food & beverage leadership experience preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced event environment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand or walk for long periods and lift moderate weights as needed.
