Pharmacy Technician 2

The Pharmacy Technician 2 obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information. The Pharmacy Technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

The Pharmacy Technician 2 will report to the Pharmacist Lead and will retrieve, count, and measure drugs. In addition, you will:

• Assist the Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs.
• Access, input, and retrieves prescription information from computer.
• Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
• May operate a cash register.
• Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction.
• Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Required Qualifications:

• Active unrestricted Florida Pharmacy Technician license
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc. and ability to learn new systems and platforms
• This role is considered patient facing and is part of Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to complete the TB screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail environment
• Nationally Certified with PTCB
• Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)
• Certified to administer Immunizations

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute scheduled lunch break from 12:30 to 1 PM.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $40,000 - $52,300 per year
