Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Java - Jersey City

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We need a formal background or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 8+ years of practical experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We need advanced coding skills in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and REST.
• We need strong experience writing high-quality code with full automated unit test coverage, including JUnit and Mockito.
• We need experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• We need demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to define team standards for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilience and security expectations, along with experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• We need proficiency across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• We need advanced understanding of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We need in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• We need practical cloud-native experience.
• Preferred: experience with front-end technologies such as ReactJS or AngularJS.
• Preferred: experience with AWS and other cloud technologies.
• Preferred: automation experience.

• We execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, and we solve problems beyond routine or conventional approaches.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• We identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring remediation work to improve application and system stability.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capability, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
