CT Technologist

The Level 2 CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic CT scans with a focus on patient safety and comfort. This role requires coordination with physicians, patient preparation, IV insertion when necessary, and accurate documentation in EPIC. The technologist must maintain a clean and safe scanning environment, utilize safe patient handling techniques, and ensure images are properly processed and sent to the PACS system. The position demands at least two years of experience, trauma center exposure, and current certification and licensure. Responsibilities:

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to scans, adhering to safety policies.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging services.
• Prepare patients for CT scans and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort.
• Insert IVs when required for imaging tests.
• Position patients safely, including lifting or moving those with limited mobility using safe patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting all necessary information in EPIC, including image identification and transmission to PACS.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility environment.

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting).
• Minimum of two years' experience as a CT Technologist.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Injection certification or willingness to complete during orientation.
• Knowledge and experience with Philips and Siemens CT equipment.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.

• Must be available for overnight shifts Monday through Thursday from 9:30pm to 8:00am EST.
• On-call, callback, and holiday coverage as per unit needs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
• Strict adherence to patient safety protocols and infection control standards.

• Overnight weekday shifts, Monday to Thursday, 9:30pm to 8:00am EST.
• Shift assignments may include on-call and holiday coverage based on unit requirements.
