Overview POSITION: Yard Foreman LOCATION: Spanish Fork, Utah. PAY: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour JOB SUMMARY The Yard Foreman runs daily operations at WW Clyde's new Spanish Fork yard. This role keeps the yard clean, organized, and functional, manages the flow of trucks, crews, and equipment in and out, and loads and secures equipment and materials headed to projects. The Yard Foreman supervises yard helpers and works closely with the Equipment Dispatch Coordinator, Shop Foreman, and operations teams to make sure equipment, attachments, and materials are ready when crews need them. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily yard operations, keeping equipment, attachments, materials, and work areas clean, organized, and where they belong. Manage the flow of trucks, drivers, crews, and vendors in and out of the yard, and track equipment, tools, and materials as they come and go. Load and unload trucks and trailers, and help secure loads using chains, binders, and straps. Safely operate loaders, excavators, forklifts, and other equipment as needed to move, stage, and load equipment and materials. Stage equipment, attachments, and materials for upcoming projects based on direction from the Equipment Dispatch Coordinator. Inspect equipment as it returns to the yard, and report mechanical, damage, or cleaning needs to the Shop Foreman. Field calls from operations about equipment and tools in the yard. Communicate equipment, mechanical, safety, or operational issues, and any priority changes that affect other yard operations, to the Equipment Dispatch Coordinator and Shop Foreman. Supervise and direct the yard helpers, assign daily tasks, and train them on yard procedures and safe work practices. Lead and follow up on safety huddles and safety meetings, and promote safe work practices throughout yard operations. Maintain the yard and facility, including snow removal, equipment washing, and trash and scrap removal. Take initiative to identify and complete yard tasks with minimal supervision, and communicate promptly when assigned work cannot be completed as expected. QUALIFICATIONS Required 3+ years of experience in construction, equipment yard, or heavy civil operations. Ability to safely operate loaders, forklifts, and excavation equipment. Working knowledge of common construction equipment, attachments, and components, with the ability to identify items and learn company specific and specialty equipment. Experience loading and unloading equipment and securing loads with chains and binders. Strong understanding of equipment and yard safety. Self motivated and willing to step in where needed without waiting for constant direction. Strong communication, attention to detail, and follow through. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Preferred Not required, but preferred. Experience operating multiple types of excavation and construction equipment. Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability. Prior experience as a yard lead, foreman, or in a supervisory role. Experience with equipment tracking or dispatch software. Forklift certification and OSHA 10 Hour certification. Bilingual English/Spanish. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Climb on and off equipment, trucks, and trailers and maintain balance. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including chains, binders, and tools. Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods on uneven ground. Work outdoors year round in heat, cold, snow, wind, and dust. Exposure to equipment noise, moving vehicles, fuels, and lubricants.
