Help Help Administer immunizations to patients.Select, procure, prepare and dispense medications; properly interpret prescription; review patient medical record for safety, appropriateness and effectiveness of drug therapy; alert medical staff to any prescription or dosage that could be harmful to patient. Properly store and protect drugs and chemical.Counsel patients on the use, storage, cautions and side effects of all medications dispenses. Interview patients to ascertain past medical and medication history.Participate in facility initiatives, attends meetings, conducts authorized outpatient clinics, document clinical activities, provide pharmaceutical services to focus on therapeutic drug monitoring; analyze medical regimen.Provide formal and informal education and in services to medical staff, pharmacy, nursing staff and patients and their families; training for pharmacy students; orientation to nurses and medical providers; collaborate with other health professional to develop treatment protocol, standards of practice and policies, participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.Help Help Conditions of Employment Must pass pre-employment examination. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Requirements for the GS-12 (or equivalent) Grade Level In addition to the requirements for the GS-11 (or equivalent) level, applicants must have a minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience. For GS-12: One (1) year of professional pharmacy experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level. Examples include: compound prescriptions, and formulate, prepare, bulk compounding, select, dispense, and preserve drug medicines and chemicals. Advise on drug therapy and usage in a hospital, clinic or a facility in the pharmaceutical industry; apply quality assurance protocols to data collection for outcome results of pharmacy based clinical programs through a database; trend results of data collected to measure position and negative outcome.
