Take the next step in your career supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic classroom setting near Denver, CO. This contract opportunity offers the chance to create a positive and inclusive learning environment while working full-time in a supportive school community. The position centers on serving students in an elementary special education classroom, with a caseload that typically includes children on the autism spectrum (ASD), based on district history. No severe needs are noted for this assignment.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds an active Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) teaching certificate
- Demonstrated experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) populations in a school setting is highly sought after
- Previous work in a school district setting is preferred
- Committed to completing background check requirements immediately upon offer acceptance
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to elementary students within a dedicated special education classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for students using evidence-based strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure inclusive opportunities
- Maintain consistent communication with families and guardians on student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and school-wide professional development as needed
Position Details:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week)
- Assigned to one elementary campus following an 8:15 AM – 3:25 PM student bell schedule
- Contract assignment runs ASAP through May 26, 2027
- Classroom serves elementary-aged students, with caseloads reflective of ASD support needs
