Make a meaningful difference every day by providing support and instruction to students with unique needs as a Special Education Teacher in the North Denver area. In this rewarding contract opportunity, you’ll work on-site with an elementary-aged affective needs classroom, utilizing your expertise to foster growth, inclusion, and positive outcomes. This assignment runs through early October and offers the chance to focus on a single school community where you can build strong, lasting relationships with students and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21)
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with affective needs preferred
- Ability to manage an elementary caseload with patience, creativity, and empathy
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Commitment to professional excellence, organization, and timely documentation
- Must be able to complete the district contractor packet promptly
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support to students in an affective needs program
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals and learning styles
- Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, and parents to promote student success
- Foster a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment
- Collect, analyze, and report data on student progress and engagement
- Engage in professional development and district trainings as needed
