Details General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients Level I and Level II Trauma Center within a STEMI and Stroke certified facility Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00) Option of 36 or 48 hours per week At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule 1:5 patient ratio Epic charting system preferred Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start) Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC 2 years of ER nursing experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients Experience interpreting ABGs and managing IV sedation/vasopressors Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE Additional Information Provide emergency care across trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and pediatric cases May manage shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations May care for pediatric emergencies including head injury and near drowning cases May assist with neuro-trauma cases including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury May assist with ortho trauma cases Brief unit orientation provided when floating to other departments First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission American Traveler Job ID P-749632.
