Associate Dean

Associate Dean, Thomas College of Business and Economics This 12‑month full‑time position will join the TCOBE Dean's Office in coordinating its constituent units. The role does not include teaching responsibilities, except in emergency circumstances as determined by the Dean. Responsibilities Program Development, Assessment, and Enrollment (30%) Coordinate and oversee class schedules, including faculty loads and enrollment caps. Ensure General Education needs are met in adherence with the Course Program of Study (CPOS) requirements and the UNCP Center for Student Success. Oversee SACSCOC and AACSB accreditation initiatives and track faculty sufficiency and achievements in SEDONA or related software. Work with the Director of the Passport to Professional Success program to ensure compliance and student success. Maintain and grow articulation agreements and memorandums of understanding with other universities and colleges. Serve as primary contact for the Office of Global Engagement for international students. Accreditation AACSB Maintenance (30%) Oversee the implementation and review of the College's strategic plan. Monitor faculty academic qualifications and maintain AACSB qualification statuses. Ensure SEDONA database updates. Collect, analyze, and report AACSB departmental and unit data. Collaborate with the AOL coordinator to review the assurance‑of‑learning process and assessment results. Oversee the College's societal impact committee. Act as liaison with TCOBE alumni through surveys and communications. Student Initiatives and Concerns (30%) Oversee and resolve student complaints and grievances. Track completion of student evaluations for PTR, P&T contract renewal, and annual evaluations. Serve as a resource for department chairs concerning procedures and departmental logistics. Develop and implement student success initiatives with faculty and other units within TCOBE. Act as primary contact for student study abroad initiatives. Marketing and Media Oversight (10%) Develop and oversee TCOBE newsletters, social media, and website presence. Monitor and advise on departmental website content updates. Represent the college and the Dean's office on campus‑wide committees and events. Promote student recruitment and retention through marketing efforts. Other Serve as the backup to the Dean. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean. Qualifications Must have earned a terminal degree. Minimum of 7 years of experience in higher education. Must have higher education teaching experience. Must have been a seated Faculty Member with 5 years of experience or 5 years in the role of Associate Dean or higher. Experience working with the registrar, advising, chairs, and graduate and continuing studies on scheduling and other student issues. Terminal degree from an AACSB‑accredited institution. Currently or previously tenured at a 4‑year institution of higher learning. Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with various college constituencies. Outstanding communication skills. Demonstrated enthusiasm for student success. Demonstrated interest in academic program building and interdisciplinary studies. Knowledge of and experience with data‑driven program review and assessment under AACSB standards and/or other accreditation processes.
