Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Engineer – AI & HPC Observability to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our observability infrastructure across data centers and cloud environments. This role is crucial to ensuring the performance, reliability, and visibility of our mission critical AI & HPC infrastructure and networks. Key Responsibilities Strategic Roadmap & Vision: Drive the long-term observability strategy, influencing platform direction and architectural standards to enhance the end-to-end customer experience. End-to-End Observability Infrastructure: Design and own scalable, reliable platforms for logs, metrics, and tracing to support observability for AI and HPC workloads. High-Performance Telemetry Pipelines: Architect real-time and batch services for high-throughput data ingestion, processing, and routing using streaming and distributed technologies. Storage & Query Optimization: Build and manage large-scale time-series storage systems optimized for complex metrics and deep analytical querying. Reliability & Monitoring Frameworks: Develop automated alerting and service-health frameworks to ensure the continuous performance of the observability ecosystem. Platform-as-a-Product Enablement: Partner with internal teams to embed observability best practices and custom tooling into their workflows, treating the observability stack as a core internal product. Requirements Bachelors in CS, CE, related field or equivalent experience. 1+ year of experience deploying, configuring and maintaining HPE OpsRamp. 5+ years of hands‑on experience with modern observability tools such as Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Datadog, ELK, Thousand Eyes. 5+ years of experience building distributed systems in production environments. Strong programming skills in Bash and Python. Strong cloud and virtualization skills (e.g. AWS, GCP, OpenStack, Proxmox, k8s) Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours support. Salary Range The base salary range for the Platform Engineer is $155,000 to $206,000 USD. This pay range reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay range for this job for the location for which it has been posted. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
