Details Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool role in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma hospital Floats between PICU, CVPICU, and NICU based on facility needs Cares for pediatric patients of all ages in critical care settings Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, up to 1:3 when floating to NICU Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) available Every other weekend required, with block weekend scheduling also available No on-call responsibilities Uses Cerner EMR Requirements Active DC RN license required; pending license accepted with proof and application submitted within 24-48 hours of signing MD/VA applicants must hold a compact or state license BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations Teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience preferred Cerner charting experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Additional Information Provide critical care nursing across PICU, CVPICU, and NICU units as assigned Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly with no logos First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year Maximum RTO of 7 days; a full week off requires making up missed shifts or extending the assignment Every other weekend and holiday required, with one holiday guaranteed and the second based on facility need Completion of pre-start orientation modules required prior to starting the assignment American Traveler Job ID P-748117.
