Details Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma hospital with 320 staffed beds Floats between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU based on facility need, caring for patients of all ages Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 in PICU/CVPICU, up to 1:3 when floated to NICU Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) available Every other weekend required, with openness to blocked weekend scheduling No on-call requirements Cerner EMR used for charting Requirements Active RN license required; DC license required, with MD/VA compact or state license also accepted Current BLS and PALS certifications required 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required, with 3 years preferred Some NICU or CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations Cerner charting experience required Teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience preferred Strong critical care skill set including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, arterial and central line management, CRRT, ICP monitoring, and management of vasoactive medications Experience with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery care, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred Pediatric dosage calculation and Broselow system use preferred Additional Information Provide critical care nursing across NICU, PICU, and CVPICU units to support facility staffing needs Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly and logo-free First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction Pending DC license accepted if applying within 24-48 hours of signing, though an active license is required before start Maximum RTO of 7 days; a full week off requires extending the contract to make up missed shifts Every other weekend and holiday coverage required, with one holiday guaranteed and a second based on facility need Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to beginning the assignment American Traveler Job ID P-748066.
