Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU RN with at least 2 years of NICU experience for a children's hospital assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Level IV NICU within a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
• Block scheduling required with self-scheduling of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Floating required between units
• No on-call responsibilities
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cares for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, Level III experience preferred
• BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products
• Experience with ventilator management, high frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide therapy preferred
• Proficient in neonatal medication administration including vasopressors, antibiotics, and anti-seizure medications
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Response required regarding any prior work history with a Providence facility

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, and neurologic support
• Support developmental care practices and family education
• May assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and ICP monitoring
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month break if outside the 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this winter block assignment
• Assignments longer than 13 weeks may be available for candidates seeking extended contracts
