The Accounting Manager will prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules; establish clear priorities and accountability; and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. This role owns the integrity of the general ledger, drives month-end and year-end close procedures, and leads financial audit readiness and execution.The right candidate will shine by bringing structure, precision, curiosity, excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and a process-improvement mindset to a growing finance environment. This leader will ensure daily accounting activities are completed in a timely, precise, and well-documented manner across multiple entities and jurisdictions, while driving scalable processes, effective internal controls, automation, and accounting technology that improve efficiency, accuracy, and visibility. In partnership with business leaders, the Accounting Manager will turn reliable financial data into meaningful key performance drivers, trends, and insights that help guide operational and strategic decision-making.Core ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop the accounting team by setting clear priorities, assigning ownership, monitoring performance, removing obstacles, and holding the team accountable for timely, accurate resultsRemain hands-on in daily accounting by preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, intercompany activity, and supporting schedulesOwn and drive the month-end and year-end close, including the close calendar, task coordination, account reviews, consolidation support, variance analysis, and delivery of financial reporting within established deadlinesLead financial audit readiness and execution by coordinating requests, preparing audit schedules, maintaining supporting documentation, resolving questions, and ensuring deficiencies are addressed promptlyEnsure daily accounting transactions are recorded completely, accurately, and on time, with appropriate review, documentation, and compliance with company policies and GAAPEstablish, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, workflows, controls, and service-level expectations across the teamDevelop, evaluate, and implement accounting and finance processes, procedures, automation, integrations, and reporting tools that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve the speed and quality of financial informationDefine, monitor, and communicate key financial and operational drivers, including trends, variances, cash flow considerations, working-capital indicators, and other measures relevant to business performancePartner with leadership and operational teams to deliver actionable insights, explain financial results, and support sound business decisionsQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of accounting operations experienceDemonstrated payroll processing experience across multiple jurisdictionsStrong understanding of general ledger, AR, AP, and reconciliation principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalentFamiliarity with ERP systemsExcellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to keep priorities, timelines, and stakeholders alignedAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesProfessional, tactful, and customer-focused communication styleAbility to work independently in a remote environmentNice to HaveExperience with cloud-based accounting & payroll platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Sage)Familiarity with international payroll and corporate tax complianceExperience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environmentPost-secondary coursework or certifications in accountingCYPFER is an equal opportunity employer.
