Title Title: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR - CLINICAL PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGIST - CARDIAC IMAGING DIRECTOR Employee Type Employee Type: Faculty Department Department: Pediatrics Campus Location Campus Location: CHILDRENS Job Summary / Basic Functions The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) and the Heart Center of the Manning Family Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (MFC) is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to serve as the Director of Cardiac Imaging. The candidate should be an established subspecialist in Cardiac Imaging. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (non‑tenure, clinical track) and will be determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience. Other Information About the Position The Cardiac Imaging Section of the Division includes 5 imaging faculty with expertise in transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography. The Echocardiography Laboratory is ICAEL‑accredited. There are 10 certified cardiac sonographers assisting the faculty in the laboratory. The Section provides cardiac CT and MRI expertise through collaboration with the hospital’s radiology department. The Section actively participates in teaching LSU and Tulane students/residents and 6 LSU Pediatric Cardiology Fellows. Active research and quality improvement initiatives are also part of the Section. Background and expertise in fetal cardiac imaging and/or cross‑sectional imaging would be suitable. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: MD or equivalent Other Education if applicable: Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology Certifications or Licenses Required: BC/BE (or equivalent) in Pediatric Cardiology; licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before start date.
