Part-Time HR Consultant | Arc Human Capital

A retired human resources professional who likes the idea of continuing to use your knowledge to support companies that need it, while making a few extra bucks? A parent who wants the flexibility to be with your kids while not derailing your career? A seasoned, well-rounded HR Generalist with 15+ years of experience, who resides in the DC metro area, and wants to work mostly remotely and manage your own schedule? Your work will be mostly remote with occasional onsite time required throughout the DC metro area. Time expectation is 10-15 hours per week. Position is bonus eligible. You’ll report directly to the company owner, a long-term HR practitioner with a senior level HR certification, master’s degree, and multiple media appearances, but who is smart enough to know he doesn’t know it all and looks to benefit from your experience, creativity, active input, and suggestions! To be successful working here you need a combination of substance and style! Substance to deliver on our client commitments, style to help boost the company’s visibility with clients & prospects! The skills we seek include: You work on your own. You must manage your schedule and deadlines. Clients call you for guidance. You must ask the right questions. Self-motivation. It’ll be what you make of it. Technological fluency. You must be able to succeed in a fully virtual environment. Experience with applying employment laws (Especially DC, VA, and MD) History of providing manager guidance Ability to conduct audits, and create and execute resulting action plans Ability to create/modify policies Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong competence with organizational culture assessment & building Ability to build lasting relationships to drive client loyalty Track record of working in diverse industries & organizational types SHRM-SCP or CP certification preferred. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. You must be able to provide a distraction-free work environment with space for a computer and 2-3 monitors and a stable power source and internet connection with dedicated high-speed internet. Successful completion of a comprehensive background check required. The position is paid hourly ($72-$81/hour), is bonus eligible, accrues PTO, and while presently 10-15 weekly hours are expected, this could grow to additional hours if you wanted!
