Duties Perform general laboratory tests – conduct routine, well‑defined clinical tasks such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics using manual and automated techniques to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Ensure quality assurance and control – perform and document quality control procedures on all equipment, reagents and other products; maintain records as required by policy and accrediting standards. Implement laboratory procedures – prepare specimens for analysis; evaluate requested procedures to determine suitability of specimens; calibrate or standardize laboratory instruments and prepare required reagents and media. Provide technical support – assist laboratory personnel in performing duties and learning new functions to develop and maintain laboratory skills. Maintain laboratory operations and compliance – observe safety and infection control requirements to contribute to health, safety, and accreditation policies. Requirements Conditions of employment:

You must set up direct deposit for payroll. Background Investigation Requirement This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. Qualifications To qualify, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of this position. Experience includes paid and unpaid experiences, volunteer work, part‑time positions, and must clearly identify duties, responsibilities and total hours per week. Basic Requirements A. A Bachelor’s or higher degree with courses in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics, plus successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program accredited by NAACLS or equivalent; OR B. A full 4‑year program including 12 months in a college or hospital‑based medical technology program or certificate program approved by a recognized accrediting organization; OR C. A Bachelor’s or higher degree with 16 semester hours of biological science (including microbiology), 16 semester hours of chemistry (including organic or biochemistry), one semester of mathematics, and five years of full‑time clinical laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids. This combination must provide knowledge equivalent to the full 4‑year course described above. Minimum Qualifications (GS‑07) Completion of 1-year graduate‑level education in medical technology, a specialty area of medical technology, or a related field; OR One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS‑05 grade level performing routine laboratory tests, quality control, and basic equipment use; OR Combination of graduate education and specialized experience totaling at least 100 % of the GS‑07 minimum; OR Completion of a 4‑year bachelor's degree and one of the following: GPA ≥ 2.95 overall; GPA ≥ 3.45 in last two years; top‑third class standing; or membership in a national scholastic honor society. Education Guidance Submit transcripts or list of courses with titles, credit hours, and grades. Unofficial transcripts accepted; official transcripts required before offer.
