Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a home care setting, caregiving, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, but not required. Certification as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or similar certifications are a plus, but training will be provided. 2. Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to provide compassionate and respectful care while maintaining clients' dignity and independence. Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, follow care plans, and document services accurately. Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and protocols. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. 3. Physical Requirements: Ability to assist clients with mobility, transfers, and personal care tasks. Must be able to lift up to 25‑50 pounds and assist with physical activities like repositioning clients. Ability to perform activities that may require bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. 4. Knowledge: Basic knowledge of home care procedures and personal care tasks, including hygiene, feeding, and medication reminders. Familiarity with patient rights and confidentiality practices (HIPAA compliance). Understanding of health and safety standards in home care settings. 5. Personal Characteristics: Compassionate, empathetic, and patient in interactions with clients. Strong commitment to providing high‑quality, client‑centered care. Professional demeanor and positive attitude. Trustworthy, responsible, and dependable. 6. Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on client needs. Reliable transportation for travel to and from clients' homes is required. 7. Background Checks: Must be able to pass background checks, including criminal history and child abuse clearances, as required by state regulations. Drug screening may be required.
