JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision.Compensation for this position is $50.00 - $60.00 hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze project requirements and information from alternative studies to develop an accurate report for submittalAnalyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects/tasksPerform design computationsDesign projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing toolsDevelop or review the construction cost estimatePrepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimatesAttend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutesCoordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and designQuality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management PlanTechnical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within departmentNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program5-10 years' experience in specialized disciplineProficient in discipline specific design softwareProficient in Microsoft OfficeWritten and communication skillsQualifications PreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) LicenseExperience working with local clients at the county and state levelWorking ConditionsAt JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least 3 days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking.
