RN Unit Manager - Long-Term Care

A long-term care and skilled nursing facility in Woodbury, Connecticut is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Manager to lead two resident care units. This is a permanent, direct-hire position reporting to the Director of Nursing. The Unit Manager is responsible for clinical quality, staff supervision, care planning, and regulatory compliance on the assigned units.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. As the manager of record for the assigned units, the Unit Manager remains the point of clinical and administrative accountability outside scheduled hours.

Compensation

$110,000 to $116,000 per year, based on clinical background and leadership experience.

What You'll Do

You will manage day-to-day clinical and administrative operations for two skilled nursing units, supervising, evaluating, and mentoring the RNs, LPNs, and CNAs who work there. You will work closely with the unit's Assistant Unit Manager to balance daily workflows and staffing needs.

You will oversee resident care plans, attending physician rounds, MDS assessments, skin and wound programs, and hospital readmission prevention. You will serve as the primary point of contact for attending physicians, specialty providers, residents, and families on questions about clinical care and treatment plans.

You will keep the units survey-ready by ensuring ongoing compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations, CMS requirements, and QAPI performance measures. When falls, medication errors, or changes in skin integrity occur, you will lead root-cause analysis, put corrective action plans in place, and complete the required regulatory documentation. Clinical documentation, auditing, and physician order review are managed in PointClickCare.

Required Qualifications

• Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut
• Associate or diploma in nursing from an accredited program
• 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• 1+ year in a nursing leadership role, such as Unit Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Charge Nurse
• Working knowledge of long-term care regulations, infection control, wound management, care planning, and DPH survey preparation
• Proficiency with an electronic medical record system, such as PointClickCare
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Ability to pass a background check, license verification, health clearance, and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• RAC-CT (MDS) certification
• Wound care certification (WCC, CWS, or equivalent)
• Prior experience as a Unit Manager or ADON in a skilled nursing facility
• Direct experience leading a unit through a DPH or CMS survey
• PointClickCare experience specifically

Compensation and Benefits

• $110,000 to $116,000 base salary
