Stock Clerk Technician

Job Overview Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm (hours may vary based on business needs). Location: North Carolina State University Campus – Talley Student Union and Rave! Catering. Department: NC State Dining (Division of Campus Enterprises). Key Responsibilities Inventory & Logistics: Rotate stock using FIFO principles; maintain cleanliness and organization in stock rooms, coolers, and freezers. Procurement: Lead ordering of all chemical, paper, and beverage products. Data Management: Utilize Netmenu for inventory tracking, invoice receiving, and paperwork issuance. Quality Control: Track product shortages, damages, mispicks; communicate issues to Purchasing Specialist for credits. Administration: Maintain the “Food Service Rewards” program and process credit entries. Leadership: Train and mentor temporary and student stock room staff. Collaboration: Partner closely with Chefs and Purchasing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely product pulls. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Strength: Able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds safely. Agility: Frequent bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing required. Conditioning: Ability to work in intense heat of a commercial kitchen and in cold walk‑in freezers/coolers. Other Responsibilities Model the Division’s mission and values; foster a positive workplace. Understand organizational goals and how staff activities impact clients. Adhere to all University policies and Division operating procedures. May be assigned to any NC State Dining department, including special events. Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency. Preferred Qualifications Experience with food service ordering systems such as Netmenu. Accurate data entry skills and ability to learn department‑specific software. Commitment to meeting deadlines and working a flexible schedule when required. Capacity to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Required License or Certification Valid NC Driver's License required.
