Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant)

TGH Urgent Care Powered By Fast Track Advanced Practice ProviderOur Mission: To create exceptional patient experiences. The TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs detailed histories and physical exams and partners with patients to create appropriate, evidence-based, medical treatment plans. Additionally, the APP collaborates with the supervising Physicians, Medical Directors, and Clinical Management team on patient cases when appropriate.Duties and Responsibilities:Provides evidence-based, episodic care to patient based on current guidelines – independently and in collaboration with other medical providers – following standards and protocols set by TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast TrackWorks within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocolsFunctions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical examinationsOrders and interprets diagnostic tests as neededPartners with patients to determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessarySafely prescribes and/or dispenses medicationsDocuments medical information of patients and reviews patients' histories at each visitEvaluates response to treatments and medicationsConsults, collaborates, and refers with other physician(s) when appropriateCounsels' patients and performs patient educationPerforms minor procedures, i.e., laceration repair, incision and drainage, minor foreign body removal, etc. within the limitations outlined in the company protocolsManages pediatric (3 months +) and adult patients for both acute and chronic conditionsActively maintains knowledge of current medical research and trendsProvides administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory tests, results, and prescription clarifications when neededCompletes other duties as assignedCompletes scheduled trainings as assignedEducation and Qualifications Requirements:Current state licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician AssociateCurrent BLSCurrent certification with the NRCME to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) examsTwo years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate, strongly preferredClinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting, strongly preferredDEA license with no restrictions, preferredNew graduates with significant procedural skills/experience will be consideredWork Environment:This position operates on-site in a professional medical environmentConsistent use of technology platforms throughout shift to complete assigned work tasksFrequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasksAbility to lift and move up to 20 lbs., and ability to sustain intermittent walking within the clinic setting for up to a 12-hour work shift.Work Schedule:13 shifts per monthApproximately 36 hours per weekWork week to include Sunday through Saturday with weekend and evening hoursFlexibility to work at clinic locations within a home region, and ability to occasionally travel between clinic locations depending upon patient volume and clinic needs.About the Organization:Tampa General Hospital and Fast Track Urgent Care have partnered together to create unique clinics for patients to receive compassionate and knowledgeable treatment.
