Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantStaffBuffalo is working with a growing organization in the Northtowns to hire a Staff Accountant, paying $60,000-$72,000/year, based on experience. This Staff Accountant role is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional with accounts payable experience who is ready to expand into broader staff accounting responsibilities and build on their general ledger knowledge.The Staff Accountant will focus heavily on full-cycle accounts payable and general ledger support, including vendor invoice processing, vendor statement reconciliations, corporate credit card reconciliations, weekly payment runs, and posting prepaid and fixed asset activity to the general ledger. The Staff Accountant role will also support bank and GL reconciliations and is well suited for someone who understands how accounts payable activity flows through the general ledger.This is a smaller accounting department where cross-training is important, so experience with both accounts payable and accounts receivable is highly valued.The position is an on-site, in-person role in the Northtowns.Responsibilities:Process vendor invoices, including coding and approvals, as part of the full accounts payable cycle.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve account discrepancies.Reconcile corporate credit card statements.Manage weekly payment runs using checks, ACH, and wire transfers.Post accounts payable activity, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset activity to the general ledger.Process bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.Support accounts receivable responsibilities through cross-training within the accounting department.Qualifications:Experience with full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, and approvals.Experience with accounts receivable is strongly preferred.Strong reconciliation experience, including vendor statements and corporate credit cards.Experience processing payments by check, ACH, and wire transfer.Solid understanding of general ledger accounts and how transactions post to the GL.Experience with bank reconciliations; general ledger reconciliation experience is a plus.Tech-savvy and comfortable working with accounting data and systems; a college degree is not required when supported by relevant experience.Benefits:Salary Range: $60,000 - $72,000/year; based on experience.Employer contribution towards health insurance.Dental insurance.Vision insurance.Accident insurance.Additional life insurance.Hybrid flexibility after the six-month probationary period, with one remote day per week excluding Mondays.
