Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Night Shift - Part-time, Wednesday night and Saturday night

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to assess, plan, and implement the nursing care of residents in a skilled nursing setting. This role involves working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and the Director of Nursing, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess resident's condition and nursing needs; prescribe appropriate nursing actions.
• Educate residents and families regarding pain management and health care needs.
• Document changes in resident's condition and nursing care accurately.
• Administer medications while following the eight medication rights to minimize errors.
• Notify physicians of any changes in resident's condition and execute physician's orders promptly.
• Supervise and provide direction to CNAs and other supportive staff members.
• Maintain infection control procedures and encourage compliance among staff.
• Participate in orientation and provide guidance for new staff members as needed.
• Establish and maintain respectful relationships with residents and their families, advocating for their needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited LVN program
• Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred
• Basic computer knowledge; Electronic Health Record experience preferred
• A minimum of skilled nursing experience is required
