Corporate Controller (Middlesex County NJ Office) Growing food manufacturer is hiring for a Corporate Controller! We are seeking a highly skilled and hands‑on Corporate Controller to lead all accounting operations for a fast‑growing, private equity‑backed consumer packaged goods (CPG) company. This role will be a key partner to the CFO and executive team, responsible for financial integrity, operational scalability, and supporting growth through acquisitions. Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with a focus on speed, accuracy, and scalability Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP Ensure timely and accurate management and investor reporting Continuously improve close timelines (target: 3–5 business days) Technical Accounting & Compliance Maintain compliance with US GAAP , including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and inventory accounting Lead all external audit and tax coordination activities Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies Ensure compliance with lender and PE sponsor reporting requirements M&A & Integration Lead purchase accounting and opening balance sheet processes Own post‑acquisition integration , including: Chart of accounts alignment Systems integration (ERP) Policy and process standardization Partner with leadership on scaling through acquisitions Intercompany & Multi‑Entity Accounting Manage complex multi‑entity structures , including consolidations and eliminations Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and transfer pricing considerations Ensure accuracy and transparency across all legal entities CPG & Operational Accounting Oversee inventory and cost accounting , including standard costing and variance analysis Manage accounting for: Trade spend, deductions, rebates, and promotions Chargebacks and customer‑specific pricing programs Partner with operations and commercial teams to improve margin visibility by SKU, channel, and customer Systems & Process Improvement Optimize and enhance ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) Lead or support ERP implementations, upgrades, or clean‑ups Build scalable processes to support rapid growth and increased transaction volume Drive automation and reporting improvements Lead and develop the accounting team (GL, AP, AR, Cost Accounting) Build a high‑performing, scalable finance organization Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and business partnership Experience and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA certification 10–15+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience in multi‑entity, mid‑to‑large scale organizations ($200M+ revenue) Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting Preferred Background in Big 4 or national public accounting firm Experience in private equity‑backed or high‑growth environment Direct experience with M&A transactions and post‑deal integration Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems Strong technical accounting expertise with hands‑on execution ability Proven ability to scale processes in a high‑growth environment Deep understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidations Experience in inventory and cost accounting within CPG or manufacturing Ability to operate both strategically and tactically Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills Why This Role This is a high‑impact opportunity to: Play a key leadership role in a PE‑backed growth story Drive M&A integration and value creation Build and scale the accounting function in a dynamic CPG environment Partner closely with the CFO and executive team on strategic initiatives Compensation range is $180k - $200k base, Bonus, plus Benefits!
