Valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Vermont.
Current CPR certification.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols.
Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and implementing preventive health measures.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, providing dental care counseling and health education.
Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA.
Commitment to patient safety and providing a comfortable patient experience.
Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals as part of a dental team.

Job Description

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and diagnostic evaluations.
Perform professional dental cleanings (dental prophylaxis) and apply preventive materials as needed.
Educate patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, on optimal oral hygiene practices, the importance of regular dental visits, and preventive health strategies.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient management and charting.
Implement stringent aseptic techniques, disinfection procedures, and adhere to healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Collaborate effectively with the dental team, including assisting in four-handed dentistry to support the dentist during various procedures.
Manage pediatric patients with care and understanding, ensuring a positive experience tailored to their needs.
Operate medical imaging equipment and acquire diagnostic images for patient care.
Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical coding, and ongoing professional development in dentistry.
