Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS required - AHA only Must-Have: - Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. - Patient ratio experience: 4:1 - Charting System Experience: Epic Description: Days, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30. Weekend rotation is required every third weekend and holiday. Minimum of 2 years of experience in MS/Tele is required. BLS certification is required. Travelers must pass a telemetry test before starting the assignment. The position involves caring for patients with complex abdominal surgeries. Nurses will manage a variety of high acuity patients. Emphasis is on compassionate patient and family-centered care. Professional development and continuing education are encouraged. Responsibilities include managing feeding tubes, drains, and administering medications. Skills in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias are required. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The daily census is approximately 28 patients with an adult and geriatric population. Nurses will be exposed to a wide range of surgical specialties and complex cases. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to provide high standards of care. All travelers will be required to float as needed within the unit. References are not required for this position. Candidates will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam. If the second attempt fails, a completion certificate from a cardiac interpretation course is needed to proceed. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment.
