Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital environment Adult and geriatric patient population Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week Every other or third weekend required Floating required within the OSU health system Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Teaching hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line management Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management Competent in wound care, wound vac management, and isolation precautions/PPE Experience with insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips Skilled in respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide direct patient care for a diverse caseload including plastics, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgical patients Utilize cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias and rapid response situations as needed Perform wound care and manage surgical drains and feeding tubes as required First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though candidates with only 1 year of experience will require manager review before offer Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of the health system are not eligible for travel assignments at this location RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines American Traveler Job ID P-739133.
