IMC Security Supervisor

The IMC Security Supervisor will:

• Provide direct leadership, supervision, guidance, and operational support to Security Officers assigned to IMC.
• Serve as the on-duty representative of Security Management, particularly during periods when the Director or Assistant Director is not physically present.
• Lead by example by maintaining high standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, professionalism, accountability, communication, and compliance with Post Orders.
• Conduct shift briefings and ensure officers are properly informed of assignments, special events, expected visitors, security concerns, BOLOs, building conditions, temporary instructions, and management directives.
• Ensure all officers understand and comply with IMC Post Orders, SOPs, emergency procedures, Andy Frain Services policies, and authorized client directives.
• Maintain proper staffing and post coverage throughout the assigned shift. Immediately address or report call-offs, tardiness, staffing shortages, uncovered posts, and other operational concerns.
• Maintain a reasonable level of schedule flexibility expected of a supervisory position. Supervisors should be willing and able, when reasonably necessary, to assume available shifts, exchange or trade shifts with other supervisors, adjust their schedules, or provide additional coverage to support operational needs and maintain adequate supervisory coverage.
• Maintain strict access-control procedures for employees, executives, visitors, vendors, contractors, and other individuals requesting access to the facility.
• Supervise the issuance and recovery of temporary badges, visitor credentials, keys, and other controlled items, ensuring each item is properly documented and accounted for.
• Ensure required signatures and documentation are obtained whenever keys, badges, or other accountable property are issued.
• Immediately investigate and appropriately escalate missing badges, keys, identification documents, access credentials, or other accountability discrepancies according to established Post Orders.
• Conduct and supervise regular interior and exterior walking patrols, ensuring doors, restricted areas, common areas, parking areas, and designated checkpoints are inspected appropriately.
• Monitor CCTV, access-control systems, alarms, radios, computers, and other security equipment as required.
• Respond to and provide supervisory direction during medical emergencies, fire/fire alarms, suspicious activity, unauthorized access, disturbances, accidents, property damage, safety hazards, and other security-related incidents.
• Coordinate appropriately with Security Management, authorized client representatives, DBPD, DBFR/EMS, and other emergency or public-safety personnel when circumstances require.
• Review officer Daily Activity Reports (DARs), Incident Reports, patrol documentation, visitor records, badge/key logs, and other required documentation for accuracy, completeness, professionalism, and timely submission.
• Maintain high documentation standards. Supervisors are expected to recognize that if an activity, incident, notification, or action is not properly documented, management may have no reliable record that it occurred.
• Ensure incident reports accurately document the circumstances, observations, actions taken, notifications made, evidence available, and final disposition without unsupported assumptions or unnecessary information.
• Identify and report safety hazards, unsecured areas, damaged property, equipment failures, suspicious activity, policy violations, and other conditions that may create security, safety, operational, or liability concerns.
• Train, coach, mentor, and develop assigned officers. Address performance deficiencies promptly and professionally rather than allowing problems to continue.
• Document significant or recurring officer performance concerns and communicate those concerns through the appropriate management chain.
• Maintain professional boundaries with subordinate personnel and apply policies, expectations, assignments, and corrective actions fairly and consistently.
• Ensure effective communication between shifts so unresolved incidents, badge/key accountability issues, maintenance concerns, equipment problems, special instructions, and other important information are properly transferred to incoming personnel.
• Perform regular Security Officer responsibilities when necessary. A Supervisor should never consider routine security duties, patrols, access control, or assisting another officer to be beneath the supervisory position.
• Perform additional security and supervisory responsibilities as directed by the Director of Security, Assistant Director of Security, Andy Frain Services Management, or authorized client representatives.

Leadership Expectations

The IMC Supervisor position requires more than seniority or technical security knowledge. Particular consideration will be given to candidates who consistently demonstrate:

• Accountability: Willingness to accept responsibility for decisions, officer performance, post coverage, documentation, and conditions occurring during the assigned shift.
• Documentation: Strong report-writing ability and an understanding that accurate DARs, incident reports, logs, inspections, and accountability records are essential components of professional security operations.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to recognize discrepancies involving badges, keys, access control, unsecured areas, documentation, equipment, personnel, and other conditions that could become larger problems if overlooked.
• Professional Communication: Ability to communicate appropriately with executives, employees, visitors, vendors, subordinate officers, Security Management, law enforcement, fire/EMS personnel, and client representatives.
• Sound Judgment: Ability to make reasonable decisions within established authority while recognizing when circumstances require notification or escalation to higher management.
• Fair and Consistent Leadership: Ability to supervise officers objectively without favoritism, retaliation, personal conflicts, or inconsistent enforcement of expectations.
• Initiative: Ability to identify and address problems without requiring management to provide constant direction.
• Flexibility and Teamwork: Willingness to adjust schedules when reasonably necessary, assume or exchange shifts, assist fellow supervisors, support officers, and contribute to maintaining continuous security operations.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates should possess a current Florida Class D Security Officer License, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a high school diploma or GED. Prior professional security experience is required, with previous supervisory, lead-officer, military leadership, corporate security, or comparable leadership experience strongly preferred.

Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to prepare professional DARs and incident reports. Candidates must be capable of learning and operating CCTV, access-control, alarm, communication, and electronic reporting systems.

The position requires the ability to conduct walking patrols, remain standing for extended periods, work independently, maintain confidentiality, interact professionally with personnel at all organizational levels, and remain calm during emergencies or confrontational situations.

Candidates must also demonstrate dependable attendance and reasonable scheduling flexibility, including the ability to work days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, special events, and, when operationally necessary, assume or trade shifts to maintain appropriate supervisory coverage.

Above all, appointment to IMC Supervisor should be based on demonstrated leadership, maturity, reliability, accountability, judgment, professionalism, documentation ability, attention to detail, and commitment to the operation—not simply length of service or previous security experience.
