Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Hours 10 PM – 6 AM Job Summary The production Supervisor is responsible for providing management, guidance, and direction to production staff while overseeing all die cutting operations that occur during the assigned shift. The production supervisor ensures the production schedule is achieved at expected costs, while meeting standards for safety and quality. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Manage the Production Schedule Identify and secure necessary resources (people, materials, etc.) Schedule and assign work to staff, managing and adjusting priorities Manage direct labor, materials, and other related costs to budget Monitor production process and progress in terms of meeting production goals; troubleshoot problems as necessary Ensure proper functioning of equipment by coordinating with maintenance and other departments as needed Coordinate with incoming/outgoing shift leader and other staff as needed to ensure a smooth transition between shifts Provide People Leadership Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff as needed Provide ongoing training and development of staff members during the shift Foster a positive work environment through open and ongoing communications and an atmosphere of teamwork for staff Provide performance feedback to staff; recognize good performance through multiple means; provide coaching, counseling or progressive discipline as needed Resolve work and interpersonal conflicts as needed Establish an environment that motivates and engages the staff to achieve desired results Ensure Compliant Operations Ensure a safe work environment by operating within and enforcing organization standards; ensure staff follows all safety policies and procedures Maintain clean work area consistent with GMP guidelines Maintain quality production by operating within and enforcing organization standards Maintain a continuous improvement atmosphere; seek to identify & recommend ways to streamline processes, reduce waste or enhance production Reporting and Record‑keeping Ensure that all production hours are entered in SAP for each line on each shift Ensure work hours are accurately reported and maintained in KRONOSEnsure that all quality checks are completed for each line during each shift Send out required shift updates once information is entered at the end of the shift Handle other special projects and initiatives related to the management of the shift as needed and as assigned Prior leadership or supervisory experience Required Skills And Education Associate’s degree in a business or technical discipline preferred Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred but not required 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; union environment a plus 2+ years’ experience in folding carton, corrugated, printed packaging strongly preferred Ability to effectively prioritize and multi‑task in high volume, fast‑paced work environment with a bias toward action Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with all employees through senior leadership level Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and best practices; familiarization with SAP Bilingual Spanish a plus Benefits Competitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including full health insurance (medical, dental and vision), 401(k), life insurance, disability and more.
